Who better to have on my side than Sakura Futaba..?

[ he gives her a squeeze, appreciative and affectionate, taking a deep breath. ]

Here's where you ask questions, if you want to know more, I guess. Otherwise, I'm just going to sit here and hold you until my ass goes numb.

[ some weak levity, as he sets his cheek against her head, staring off into the night of the campus. ]

[ with some shifting, he brings his wiwaldi phone out, showing her the charm on it. ]

I said I'd tell you about Yoru, right? This is what he looks like. I made him - I was, like, eleven when I first started working on him. He's a robot with learning AI, and the last time I saw him he had the developmental understanding of a six year old, give or take. Just some dumb kid, but he was putting together his own streams of thought, in that way that kids do.

... in exchange for getting information and funds to help somebody, I loaned him to a project partner. And they overwrote him, made him an admin program in Amatsuki.

Yeah, cute little skynet. [ he'll let her boop the little, cheerful yoru that has his army raised in a wave. ] The project partner did. Yoru as the Yakou was just meant to gather the experiences in Amatsuki, while moderating things. Killing code that didn't belong, rewriting things as Urushibara and his partner wanted.

But it's a virtual reality simulation, set in 1850s Edo, with youkai and magic and the onmyouji bureau, all that. Kind of neat in concept, except for the part where the terminals in the super computer they built to run everything are kind of kidnapped people immersed in the VR.
