[what a shitshow. after the trial, taichi finds himself wandering around campus, occasionally dropping in to talk to people and making sure nothing else is amiss.
at some point though his wandering leads him straight to futaba. he thinks about how today's trial went, and as he approaches her he's quiet but not enough to startle her.]
Looks like it worked out after all. [but his feelings are still a little uneasy about it, even as he gauges what she might say.]

Yeah...even though a bunch of us already come from weird places to begin with. [which is part of what he wanted to ask her about in the first place, so he pauses then.] Have you ever experienced something like this before, Futaba-chan?
Mm.......... not reaaaally......? [ obi wan voice: it depends on your point of view ] It's been definitely weirder to have 40 chickens trying to solve a murder.
It wasn't. But I think most of us weren't expecting something like this when we got the alert this morning, you know? Pretty sure a lot of us thought we'd be talking to the dorm heads, or maybe getting some answers. Not that we'd have to find them ourselves.
I keep thinking about it and wondering how we could have done better. Or how we could've prevented this at all.
A confused bear, most likely. [dryly.] None of us are cut out for this, so what was the point of setting us up for failure? It's like they wanted to prove a point and make us do their dirty work for them.
The "why" is that there's something happening here. But we need to know the "what", too.

We have way more questions than answers and it's only getting stranger from here..!
I think we need to learn more about this place. The history, the origins, anything we can. Principal Bear definitely alluded to this happening before so maybe we can find out what happened then? It might help us figure out why we're here- even if he says we all signed up when none of us can recall such.

If we could access the admin office I could probably get into the faculty files but that might take longer.
They keep saying that office is unavailable. I'm waiting for one of them to admit it's either right under our noses or it doesn't exist at all. [frowning...] I've heard that we were actually brought here on purpose, so there's still a lot that doesn't add up.
But you're right. The history's important. If we can trace back to what started it, we can figure out how to stop it.
There's always a reason. Even if they don't know somebodies gotta know why we've all been dragged here without warning. It'll just take a couple of misadventures, a side story, and maybe breaking and entering to find it.

I'm hoping the library might have some answers but so far it seems pretty generic school stuff.
I haven't had much luck there, but I haven't really looked around either. I'm not great with that kind of research. I've mostly been talking to the dorm heads to see what kind of information they can provide. That's going as well as you'd expect.
But if that's true, then we're still at the beginning of the adventure. We've got a lot of weeks to go if we're gonna be here a whole year.
I think maybe I'll leave the note taking to you, but I can probably handle the investigating part. You'd think people would want to help after this happened, but...we'll have to see.
